Did you know that 2008 marks the Club's 40th year?

It all started in 1968 with a notice p osted on a Hudson's Bay grocery store bulletin board: "Anyone interested in skiing and starting a ski club, phone 873-2041."  Fewer than a dozen people showed up at the first meeting. They formed the inaugural executive of the Yellowknife Ski Club and the club was born.

The Club is proud to be celebrating our 40th anniversary.  Enjoy our special edition newsletter packed full of great stories and photos from members over the years.   Did you know we first started out with a tow rope powered by a truck motor on what Yellowknifers now know as the Jackfish Lake toboggan hill?  Read on!

Our 40th year continues this season, when the snow returns to our trails.  Until then, enjoy the great hiking, biking and views along the trails this fall!
